Our client, a global confectionary manufacturer, sought improvements in their outsourcing strategy so they could focus more on their core business competencies.
They utilized Sterling’s internal team of 40+ engineers across multiple disciplines, including but not limited to machine design, process design, plant facilities design, capital equipment installation, commission projects, and management of their CAD archival system.
Our Solution
Sterling Engineering’s long-standing relationship with our client included an on-site team that deeply understood our client’s manufacturing processes. We built upon our existing relationship to implement an on-site team that included:
- Providing the client with flexible, skilled team members to complete various projects.
- Full-scale training on safety and operating procedures.
- Quarterly usage reports to ensure projects were completed on time and within budget.
The Results
Sterling’s Project Services solution allowed the client to adjust the size of their workforce as needed. This flexibility helped the client continuously meet project timelines by utilizing Sterling’s internal team of engineers.
Subject matter experts (such as structural and control engineers) supported the project as needed.
Finally, because these resources remain with Sterling, the client has been able to leverage them continuously for other projects. Given their knowledge base, ramp-up time has been dramatically reduced.
